JOSE "BETO" MUNOZ

FORMER MARIACHI INTERNACIONAL DE MEXICO

 Jose Alberto Muñoz was born in 1970 in Mexico City. From an early age he ventured into mariachi music since his father began to teach him at the age of 8. At the age of 10 he participated in the children's choir of his town Coatepec Harinas found in state of Mexico. At the age of 11 he was in the music ensemble of his high school. He also began to play with his father at festivals in his
town and ranches in the region. At the age of 15 his father took him to Mexico City, specifically to Garibaldi Square. There he began to
play with different mariachi groups of all levels. Later he played in a restaurant called Guadalajara, and there he shared a stage with many prestigious Garibaldi musicians. He accompanied a variety of
singers from Mexico. Shortly after he became a part of Julio Gavia's Mariachi Zihuatlan. Not long before he emigrated to Los Angeles California where he met mariachi musicians from all over the Mexican Republic,
allowing him to gain very good experience. In 1991 Jose received the invitation to be part of the prestigious Mariachi International of Mexico, by Fransisco Jara. There he participated for 15 years, recorded dozens of albums and accompanying many professional artists such as Lucha Villa, Lola Beltran, Pedro Fernandez, Aida
Cuevas, to name a few. After leaving the International Mariachi of Mexico Jose developed his own group, named the Mariachi Cantares de Mexico. It was then that he dedicated himself to delighting his clients by producing recordings for different singers and groups of Mariachi. He has since recorded around 100 albums with mariachi music. One of the most well known is the work completed with the Mariachi Tepalcatepec of Michoacan. It was with this project that Jose took upon the task of reviving some forgotten sounds and giving them a new life. His creativity allowed him to share traditional music from the different regions of
Mexico known as sonés, rancheras and polkas. Jose Alberto Muñoz is a lover of Mexican folklore and composed many musical pieces and written plenty of songs. Through his art he is always . striving to highligth the beautyand versatility of mariachi music. He Shares his passion and spreads joythrough the most beautiful music in the world.
